  • Rework the Runway

    Rework the Runway is a sustainable fashion show and design competition happening on Earth Day 2024 at North Bowl in Philadelphia. 10-15 hand-selected Philly-based designers will use secondhand clothing and recycled materials to create one-of-a-kind reworked looks to be featured in a fashion show. The winner of the competition will win a full 4-way rack inside Urban Exchange Project to sell their items at full profit for 2 months as well as a First Friday event highlighting their residency. Urban Exchange Project will also be releasing its line of recycled and reworked pieces in the 2nd portion of the show.

    Join us for a short tour of Laurel Hill West’s wintry arboretum in celebration of Tu B’Shevat, the Jewish New Year for the Trees. As we examine barks, buds, and berries, we’ll learn about the historical, agricultural, and spiritual origins of Tu B’Shevat and how it is celebrated around the world today. Afterward, warm up indoors in our Conservatory while enjoying wine and fruits significant to the holiday and often consumed during Tu B’Shevat Seders.
