Join us for a contemplative approach to photographing nature using smartphones. The emphasis will be on the process, not the product. Walking meditation, mindful breathing, and contemplative appreciation of nature will be the doorways into a reflection on our relationship to nature. What images do we see? What stories do we create about what we observe? Can we learn to see familiar sights with new eyes?

Fall provides a great time for planting native plant species because of less leaf eating bugs, less weeds, and the opportunity to provide nectar before winter. Join us for ONE DAY ONLY on Saturday, September 16th from 9 am – 2 pm for our Fall Native Plant Sale at the Center. Some Fall Native Plants include: Goldenrod, Aster, Fruit trees, and Blueberries. Mark your calendars and get ready for some great native additions to your fall garden.
March 13 is the opening day for the Schuylkill Center’s Biannual Native Plant Sale! Starting today, trees and shrubs will be available for purchase. Come shop for your favorites: Paw Paw, Hazelnut, Dogwoods and more will be available at our online shop. Buy online, and pick up in person. Join us on Sunday, April 28 from 10am - 2pm for our annual Garden Day & Plant Sale! We will be selling a variety of affordable seedlings and native plants with beautiful blooms. Prices range from $4.00 for vegetable starter plants to $30 for well-established, exotic house plants. Choose from 100s of varieties of unique veggies, herbs, native plants, and pollinators for all kinds of light and moisture conditions. All plants have been carefully cultivated by Penn State Master Gardeners and proceeds support our educational programs. Philadelphia Master Gardeners will also host garden tours and gardening workshops & demonstrations throughout
