Honeysuckle season is here! Lonicera japonica, better known as Japanese Honeysuckle, is an invasive species that’s hard to miss in this area, so it’s up to us to make Honeysuckle disappear in the best way we know how – eat it! Join us on a guided hike to learn about this plant and forage a bit for ourselves. After the hike we’ll learn how to enjoy these sweet and tasty plants three different ways. McKaig Nature Center Hike

Join us for some enjoyable exercise: an approximately 2.2-3.5 mile hike on trails at McKaig Nature Center in Wayne, PA. The difficulty level will be moderate, with speeds around 3 to 3.5 mph in the easier sections, and lower in hilly and uneven sections (rocks, tree roots, etc.); total elevation gain will be approximately 350-650 feet. There is not much total elevation gain, but some of the elevation occurs over short distances (meaning: steep but short section). There are plenty of flatter and downhill sections. We will stop periodically, especially at the tops of hills if some go up faster
