We host Creek Care Days at our restoration sites on the second Saturday of each month until November! Care includes cleaning up invasives, rain gardens, removing buffer fencing, etc. All tools and supplies will be provided, including work gloves (though you’re welcome to bring your own). Tacony Park Kick-off Weekend Clean Party on 08/17/2024 and help us transform Whitaker Gateway into a cleaner, greener space! 🌿 Together, we can make a difference and reclaim our beautiful park. To kick off our #CreakyCLEAN Tacony Park campaign TTF Watershed is partnering with Parks & Recreation and our park neighbors along Tampa Street to reclaim this gateway from years of short dumping of overgrowth. Street parking is available on-site. We will provide gloves and all the tools/supplies, such as trash bags and trash grabbers.

Join us to help plant along the Jenkintown Creek that runs behind McKinley Elementary (370 Cedar Rd, Elkins Park, PA 19027) on Sunday, October 20th from 10 am – 1 pm. We will be working to plant a number of trees and shrubs to help reestablish canopy cover along the creek and revitalize the existing riparian buffer on site. Please fill out the form below. TTF will provide tools and gloves and will have masks, hand sanitizer, water, and snacks for volunteers if needed. We recommend that volunteers wear hats, closed-toe shoes, and comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing that can get dirty.

This years project: Removing Ivy and other invasive vines from the stone wall in Haines Field as well as from the base of some old Yew trees along the wall. Join us as we tackle one of the largest illegal dumpsites in Philadelphia!! We’re teaming up with the City of Philadelphia, Office of Clean and Green, Philadelphia Parks & Recreation, Philadelphia Water Department, United by Blue, and multiple agencies, to remove illegally dumped tires and clear debris from Tacony Creek Park and the surrounding streets. This cleanup is a great way to make a real impact! Volunteers comfortable lifting heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.) are especially needed to help remove tires. Prefer lighter work? This spring, show your favorite neighborhood park some love! Love Your Park Week is a nine-day celebration of Philadelphia’s public parks from May 10-18, 2025. In partnership with Philadelphia Parks & Recreation and Fairmount Park Conservancy, Park Friends groups across the city are hosting events & volunteer cleanups for Love Your Park Week 2025. Over 100 Philly parks need volunteers to help with tending gardens and flower beds, caring for trees, and cleaning up our parks to prepare for the busy spring and summer seasons.

Our inaugural Creek Clean Up was held in 1970 to coincide with the very first Earth Day! Join us in celebrating both events by helping clean the Wissahickon Creek, its tributaries, and local trails on Saturday, April 25th. This is the perfect volunteer event to get outside and show your support for a cleaner watershed. All volunteers choose a pre-assigned section of the Wissahickon Creek, its tributaries, or a section of trail. Maps (including parking, cleaning boundaries, and trash drop sites) can be found on the registration page. Please note that this is a self-guided volunteer outing and you will join other volunteers
