Join ASHM and the National Museum of the United States Navy (NMUSN) for the grand opening reception of And Let Victory Tell the Rest: 250 Years of Shipbuilding in Greater Philadelphia. This exhibition, curated by NMUSN, explores the production of American naval ships in the Delaware Valley, tracing the roles which the people of Philadelphia and the surrounding areas had in developing America’s Navy over the past 250 years. NMUSN Curator Gordon Calhoun and ASHM Curator Brett Peters will circulate in the exhibit throughout the evening to discuss this fascinating aspect of industrial naval history and its Swedish connections. A Boat Jawn Philly is a collaborative event by local musical artists Blck Teeth & Solar Sounds and experiential event producer Steph Irwin aboard the 3 floor Ben Franklin Yaht. The boat sets sail from Columbus Blvd at 4:00pm sharp Saturday 6/28, sailing around the Ben Franklin Bridge, down to the Navy Yard and back. Canoe Club Open House

The Philadelphia Canoe Club is hosting our Annual Open House on June 29th from 10 am to 4 pm. There will be live music, boating in canoes and kayaks on Wissahickon Creek, food, drinks, and a used gear sale. All equipment is provided and experienced boaters will be there to support your paddling experience. Gear sale includes boats which you can try before you buy as well al lots of great outdoor clothing and gear.. Please join us at the historic old mill clubhouse to help celebrate our 120th Anniversary at the confluence of the Wissahickon Creek for a day
