The 90-minute concert is conducted by Opera Philadelphia’s Elizabeth Braden and Theodore Thomas, Jr., Director of the Wharton-Wesley Faith Ensemble and Minister of Music at Tindley Temple, and includes compositions by Roland Carter, Christopher H. Please join us on Saturday, March 30th, from 3 - 4 pm for a special storytelling performance by Saundra Gilliard in conjunction with the exhibition Dolls, Idols, and Ideals. This performance is family-friendly and may be best enjoyed by those aged 10 to adult. For this performance, Saundra Gilliard will weave together a collection of stories from West Africa, Black America, and the Caribbean, which have inspired the artists in Dolls, Idols, and Ideal. These stories will help audiences better understand the work and the conversations within. Doors will open at 2.45 pm, and the performance will start at 3.15
