The party’s about to be on! Join us on Friday, November 10 for WURD Radio’s 20th-anniversary celebration – an evening of Black excellence and elegance. Hosted at the beautiful Fitler Club in downtown Philadelphia, we’ll get things started at 6 p.m. with a cocktail reception. Grab a bite, share a toast or just come hang out with your favorite WURD hosts.
In recognition of this milestone birthday, we’re bringing together the owners of the nation’s three remaining Black talk radio stations – Melody Spann Cooper, owner of WVON in Chicago, Tavis Smiley, owner of KBLA in Los Angeles, and WURD’s own CEO and President Sara Lomax – to explore the future of independent Black-owned media.
We’ll also have special live performances – make sure you wear your dancing shoes because we’ll be rocking the house with one of Philly’s legendary DJs spinning music from way back to today. Stay tuned for more updates on special guests joining the WURD 20th anniversary celebration!
And of course, membership has its privileges: ForWURD members get your tickets before they go on sale to the public, at the special membership discount of $125 ($150 to non-members). Tickets are limited so get your tickets today!
