Wednesday Volunteer Service with David Bower

Meeting at Wissahickon East Park on Anderson St & Woodbrook Ln (see map here)
Parking: There should be free street parking nearby our meeting location on Woodbrook Lane, Roumfort Road, and Crittenden Street.
Bathrooms: There will not be bathroom access during our service day.
Would you like to be part of keeping Wissahickon Valley Park beautiful and sustainable? Then join longtime Wissahickon steward David Bower and his dedicated team of Crew Leaders and Trail Ambassadors for a variety of stewardship tasks!
All are welcome to attend, and no experience is needed. We encourage attendees to work within their own comfort level, and we always strive to accommodate needs on an individual basis. With that being said, this service day may include the following activities:
• Trail work: using long-handled tools for scraping, digging, tamping, and cutting; moving heavy objects
• Planting site maintenance: using long handled tools for cutting, scraping, and digging
• Invasive plant removal: bending over, using long handled tools for cutting vines
• Litter clean-up
We provide gloves, tools, and instruction–you just need to show up! Be sure to wear sturdy footwear and long pants, and remember to bring water with you. Detailed information and confirmation of the meeting location will be sent by email one business day before the event. If you are hoping to bring a group of 5 or more people, please reach out to us first.
Registration is required for all volunteer service days so that participants can be informed of emergency cancellations. Service days are cancelled in steady precipitation or other dangerous weather conditions.
