VU @ Love Your Park Day – Glendinning Rock Garden
Join the Volunteering Untapped Team on Saturday,Nov 8th, for our event!
Our partner this month is Love Your Park. They are a collaboration between Fairmount Park Conservancy, Philadelphia Parks & Recreation, and Philadelphia’s Park Friends Network. They work together to support communities in activating Philly’s neighborhood parks and watershed natural areas, with a special focus on inviting Philadelphians to get involved by volunteering. Their mission is to change the culture of littering, building connections, and restoring trust and beauty to our city, one block at a time.
What will we be doing on Saturday, Nov. 8th?
- Trash pickup along stairs, trails, and rock features
- Leaf bagging from the stone steps
- Clipping any overgrowth from trails
Notes ahead of the event!
- Wear clothes that are comfortable and suitable for the weather, since this event takes place outside and inside
- Please wear closed toed shoes
- A waiver will be sent out with the reminder email for you to sign once you have placed a reservation on Eventbrite!
Parking & Transportation
Parking will generally be street parking. There is also a small lot outside the Lemon Hill Mansion. Right now, streets in and around the park are being repaved, which could impact availability. Additionally, Lemon Hill is easy to access from the Schuylkill Trail, the Girard Ave trolley, and routes 48, 49, and 32 for anyone not driving.
