Meeting at Historic RittenhouseTown (see map here)
Join Friends of the Wissahickon and Hike+Heal for a special Family Hike on Veterans Day! Together, we’ll honor those who have served while reflecting on connection, resilience, and gratitude in nature.
Led by Brandi Aulston and her organization, Hike+Heal, this stroller-friendly trek invites veterans, their loved ones, and all community members to share in a mindful afternoon outdoors. We’ll move at a relaxed pace, practice grounding exercises, and celebrate the beauty of the Wissahickon during this reflective day of remembrance and renewal. Bring your friends, family, and neighbors, all are welcome!
Schedule:
1:00 PM – Check-In at Historic RittenhouseTown
1:15 PM – Welcome Circle + Warm-up
1:30 PM – Family Hike down Forbidden Drive and back
3:00 PM – Closing Circle + Stretch
There is parking in several small lots around HRT as well as nearby street parking on W Rittenhouse Street. Parking in the paved lot along Lincoln Drive is not recommended, as it has been the site of car break-ins.
Please note there will be bathroom access about midway along our route.
