United by Blue and the City of Philadelphia Dumpsite Cleanup Saturday 4.5

April 5 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Make an impact on Tacony Creek Park by cleaning up illegally dumped tires. This is a signature site of the Philly Spring Cleanup on 4.05

Come celebrate The Philly Spring Cleanup with United by Blue , Philadelphia Parks and Rec, the Philadelphia Water Dept, The Office of Clean and Green, and TTF Watershed at Tacony Creek Park.

We will come together to help preserve the health and beauty of Tacony Creek Park by tackling one of the largest illegal dumpsites in Philadelphia. Volunteers will remove illegally dumped tires as well as clear debris from surrounding streets. Being comfortable with lifting heavy objects up to 50 pounds is desirable for this cleanup event. There will also be an opportunity to collect lighter litter around the dumpsite with grabbers.

We will meet at Adams Avenue in Tacony Creek Park, the road will be shut down and parking attendants will help you find a place to park. Please arrive at 9 am so that we can check you in and begin the cleanup.

All cleanup gear (gloves, pickers, sleds, & trash bags) will be provided, but feel free to bring your own gloves if preferred. Please wear comfortable clothing and closed-toed shoes, and don’t forget sun protection and rain gear (just in case! ☔️). Lastly, be sure to bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated. 💧A water cooler will be available for refills.

Volunteer and join our cleanup crew for a chance to win United by Blue backpacks, bottles, and apparel made out of recycled plastic. We will celebrate our work with free dumplings from the Humpty Dumpty Food Truck and drinks after the cleanup. Environmental non-profits and government agencies from the Philly area will be tabling to show how you can get more involved in their amazing efforts.

If you can’t join us Saturday, we will also be hosting a cleanup on Sunday, April 6th at the Whittaker Gateway, Here is the link to sign up!
