Uncle Bobbie’s X Tracey Michae’l Lewis-Giggetts – Black Joy Workshop
April 24 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Join Uncle Bobbie’s as we welcome the amazing Tracey Michae’l Lewis-Giggetts for a special workshop around Black Joy.
Joy Is Your Birthright!
We are thrilled to welcome author, and NAACP Image Award winner, Tracey Michae’l Lewis-Giggetts for an intimate, hands-on workshop experience around reclaiming BLACK JOY.
So many of us are looking for ways to reclaim JOY in light of the challenges and chaos of this moment in our country. It’s incredibly important that we are intentional with, as Tracey says, “writing joy into our days.” Through this micro-workshop Tracey will walk us through some of the exercises in the Black Joy Playbook and host a discussion on how we might embrace our joy as an act of resistance, yes, but also as a way to heal.
All tickets come with a copy of The Black Joy Playbook: 30 Days of Intentionally Reclaiming Your Delight
Also, attendees will be able to have an exclusive shopping discount while in the store!
We look forward to seeing you at this needed event!

About the book:
Reclaim your joy with this beautifully designed and thoughtful playbook from the author of the NAACP Image Award winner Black Joy.
We have an ancestral mandate to hold not just the pain and trauma of our experiences as Black people, but to hold the joy and love and peace that is also ours.
Joy is a weapon, not only for resistance, but also a means for healing—a powerful tool that is all-encompassing and necessary. Black Joy Playbook helps you mine your memories to discover what joy looks and feels like to you and then guides you to re-create it in your present-day life.
Divided into themes of joy in the body, breath, tears, laughter, and every day, each of the thirty entries includes the following:
a short inspiration
questions for reflection
a meditation
space for contemplation
suggestions for how to choose joy
It’s time to chase joy and cultivate it from the inside out!
