Uncle Bobbie’s Presents: 2nd Annual bell hooks Symposium

Join us for an amazing panel discussion about the legacy and work of bell hooks.

Join us for the 2nd Annual bell hooks Symposium at Uncle Bobbie’s Coffee & Books. On Saturday September 30, a panel of leading intellectual, cultural, and political voices will discuss bell hooks’ unparalleled impact as a scholar, writer, teacher, mentor, comrade, sister, and friend. Powered by thoughtful critique and deep love, the wide-ranging discussion will include topics such as Black feminism, radical politics, critical education, spirituality, masculinity, and love.

The event will be held at Greene Street Friends School and live-streamed on the Uncle Bobbie’s YouTube channel.

Panelists include: Tarana Burke, author, activist and founder of the Me Too movement; Eddie Glaude Jr., Princeton University professor and author of Begin Again; Brittney Cooper, Professor cultural critic and author of Eloquent Rage; Keeanga Yamahtta-Taylor, author, activist and scholar; Kiese Laymon, professor and author of Heavy.

This discussion will be moderated by professor, author, and activist Marc Lamont Hill.
