Meeting at Bells Mill Road and Forbidden Drive
There are two parking lots a short walk away from our meeting location. Please be mindful of your surroundings when crossing Bell’s Mill bridge from the lower lot.
There will be porta potties available nearby.
Would you like to be part of keeping Wissahickon Valley Park beautiful and sustainable? Then join us along as we clear stormwater infrastructure of dirt and debris to maintain proper water flow, prevent erosion, and support the health of both the trails and surrounding ecosystems by reducing the risk of water damage to the landscape.
All are welcome to attend, and no experience is needed. We encourage attendees to work within their own comfort level, and we always strive to accommodate needs on an individual basis. With that being said, this service day may include the following activities:
• Drain-clearing: carrying and using long handled tools
• Repetitive motions
We provide gloves, tools, and instruction–you just need to show up! Be sure to wear sturdy footwear and long pants, and remember to bring water with you. Detailed information and confirmation of the meeting location will be sent by email the day before the event. If you are hoping to bring a group of 5 or more people, please reach out to us first.
