Learn to how to find awe and joy in our everyday life with Claudia Apfelbaum.
Experiencing awe takes us out of our hum drum existence and brings us to a state
of inner excitement and reverence. It is something most humans experience on
occasion, often when we are in nature and when we see something unexpected,
mind-blowing and uplifting. Two rainbows arching one above the other can bring
a feeling of awe to the beholder.
Scientists are studying the effect of this universal experience and have identified
that many good social and personal-life improving “properties” follow the
experience of awe. They have found that experiencing awe increases our feelings
of social connection, reduces stress, increases our sense of generosity, and
improves our overall sense of well-being!
Not only is this exciting, it is possible to create moments of awe in our daily lives.
In this workshop, we will talk about our experiences of awe and learn ways to
increase our capacity to experience awe in our daily lives. This in person workshop will be hosted by Claudia at Weavers Way Germantown in the Outreach office on 6/7 from 11-1pm.
