The Case For Veg History In Schools

March 3, 2023 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Veg history is a largely unexamined field that intersects with social reform, sustainability, nurtition, ancient foodways and more.

The vegan impulse has motivated groups and movements throughout human history, and it intersects with both the development of social reform and with influential individuals such as Benjamin Franklin, Emmanuel Swedenborg, Louisa May Alcott, Clara Barton, Hypatia, Gandhi, Socrates and Jesus. From 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., this 5-minute talk will be offered at ~10-minute intervals at the AVC as part of our 2023 Campus Philly celebration. Find out why veg history is essential to U.S. education and after attending, get 10% off any item at the American Vegan Center!
