Meet at the Crefeld Street Trailhead
Enjoy a great day in the Wissahickon Park while getting some exercise and building your appetite for Thanksgiving dinner.
We will hike about 4 to 6 miles over the scenic trails of the east side of the Wissahickon Park. Starting at the Crefeld Street trailhead we will follow the Lavender and White Trails enjoying the great views of the Valley and creek.
Distance and pace will be determined by the participants. Hiking shoes or boots and poles are recommended. There will be some steep ascents and decents and rocky, root covered trails. Children over 12 and dogs on leashes are welcome if able to maintain a two mile per hour pace on the trails and handle the terrain and hills.
Distance: 4-6 miles
Level: Moderate (some inclines and declines, uneven surfaces)
Registration is required for all hikes so that participants can be informed of weather or other emergency cancellations.
Unless otherwise specified, Trail Ambassador Walks may be on rocky, rugged trails that may be wet and slippery. Wear sturdy shoes or boots with socks. Walks are cancelled in heavy rain. Service animals are always welcome. For more information contact Marisa Miller at miller@fow.org. Visit www.fow.org for updates.
