Sun Prints with Native Plants
This quick and easy project is fun for all ages. We encourage folks from any age group to sign up!
Registration fee includes two 5×7 prints.
We’ll begin with a brief history of cyanotype photography – also called “sun prints”, its connection to botany, and the process of developing these unique prints.
Then participants will gather leaves, flowers, and other objects from our grounds to create their very own cyanotype prints! PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN GARDEN CLIPPERS IF YOU CAN. You are also welcome to bring your own objects to include in your prints (flat objects work best including keys, jewelry, lace fabric, etc).
$10 per participant, due at time of event. Registration fee includes two 5×7 prints.
Expect this workshop to take approximately 60 minutes. The duration will take place outdoors. Please wear proper clothes and shoes and bring necessary sun protection.
Minimum recommended age is 5 years old. Children must be accompanied by an adult. If only the child is making Sunprints, purchase one ticket and they will make two sundrints. If the adult and child are EACH making sunprints, purchase two tickets. The adult will make 2 sunprints and the child will make 2 sunprints.
In the event of rain, we will likely need to cancel the sun prints workshop. If we need to cancel, we will send a notice to the email you used here for registration.
