Stormwater Runoff: Management and Regulation

Join Climate Action PA and Speaker Brent Walls of the Potomac Riverkeeper Network to discuss the detrimental effects of nonpoint source pollution; particularly stormwater runoff, and how it is affecting the city of Philadelphia and its surrounding regions. The Philadelphia Water Department launched a 25-year initiative in 2011 titled Green City, Clean Waters; this program had the goals of reducing overall stormwater pollution as well as improving city wastewater capacity and quality of treatment centers. We will be diving into this initiative as well as how the requirements are enforced by organizations and agencies. Throughout this event, we will learn about the issues surrounding stormwater mitigation, new technologies being developed and implemented within the city, and ways in which you can be an informed and involved community member on this environmental issue!
