Speaking of History – Hamorton Village -250 Years of History

April 26 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Hamorton Village – Skirmishes, Abolition, and Longwood Gardens

Speaker: Tina Bennett, Kennett Township Historical Commissioner

Located at the intersection of Route 1 and Route 52 Hamorton Village is one of the first employee housing developments in the nation. Beyond its current “drive-by” status lies a rich history, including a major skirmish of the Battle of Brandywine, a “Free Produce Store”, the residence of a distinguished doctor and conductor on the Underground Railroad, and a school open to students regardless of color. Explore this National Register village and the depth of the story contained behind its walls.

Seating is limited so be sure to reserve a seat with a free ticket. If you are unable to attend, please cancel your ticket. You do not need to print your ticket.
