Scars, Voices & Becoming: A Women’s History Month Gathering

March 29 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Join us in person to share stories, heal wounds, and celebrate the power of growth and resilience.

Event Description

Scars, Voices & Becoming is a Women’s History Month gathering centered on women who have been impacted by the criminal justice system—directly or indirectly—and who continue to show up with resilience, courage, and care for their families and communities.

This event creates intentional space for women to be seen, heard, and honored for what they have endured and what they continue to give. Through storytelling, reflection, and community connection, we will uplift women whose experiences—whether as formerly incarcerated women or as mothers, sisters, aunts, and caregivers—have shaped their leadership and strength.

Hosted by Victoria Urban Outreach Tutoring Service (VUOTS), this gathering is rooted in justice, healing, and collective affirmation. It is not a panel or a performance—it is a moment to pause, reflect, and honor the becoming that happens after harm.

This event is part of VUOTS’ ongoing commitment to educational justice, healing-centered engagement, and community-rooted leadership. VUOTS is not just tutoring—we create spaces for learning, restoration, and visibility for those too often overlooked.
