Recipe for Community by Cindy Lozito Mural Dedication

Mural Arts and Vetri Community Partnership (VCP) celebrate the dedication of a new mural created by artist Cindy Lozito called Recipe for Community! This mural honors the community and magic that is created when cooking a meal together, where food often transcends boundaries, bringing people closer. It also highlights the work of VCP, providing nutritious and accessible cooking courses onsite, as well as out in the community at schools or in their mobile teaching kitchen.

A collaboration between Mural Arts’ Restorative Justice program and VCP, the partnership included education and work-readiness programming for Restorative Justice program participants. VCP shared their community cooking courses with Restorative Justice program participants in addition to providing them OSHA training. In the spirit of this project, we will host a shortened version of VCP’s cooking course at the end of this dedication event for all to join in.
