Planting Volunteer Service Day

October 19 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Meeting at Summit & Old Line Trailhead
This location will not require hiking to get to from the available parking areas.
Please note that there will not be bathroom access during the service day.
Would you like to be part of keeping Wissahickon Valley Park beautiful and sustainable? Then join us for a planting on the Yellow Trail as we finish up our reroute project!
All are welcome to attend, and no experience is needed. We encourage attendees to work within their own comfort level, and we always strive to accommodate needs on an individual basis. With that being said, this service day may include the following activities:
• Planting: bending over, crouching/squatting, carrying up to 20 lbs
• Invasive plant removal: bending over, using long handled tools
• Hiking up to .6 miles
• Repetitive motions
We provide gloves, tools, and instruction–you just need to show up! Be sure to wear sturdy footwear and long pants, and remember to bring water with you. Detailed information and confirmation of the meeting location will be sent by email the day before the event. If you are hoping to bring a group of 5 or more people, please reach out to us first. For more information contact Marisa Miller at [email protected].
