Learn the basics in plant ID with horticulturist, Briar Maverick.
Join horticulturist Briar Maverick on a walking tour of the Arboretum as he discusses the basics of plant identification: leaf arrangement and morphology; flower and fruit structure; bark; and growth habit. We’ll look at real-world examples and explain terminology while appreciating seasonal highlights. This tour is designed for beginners to learn how to look at plants and tell one plant from another but is open to all experience levels. Please remember to wear good walking shoes and dress for the weather.
