The best stories from our city told live on one stage.
What:
Philly Story Fest brings journalists and locals together for a night of art, entertainment and storytelling by and for the people of Philadelphia. Think of it as a podcast, but live and on stage at the historic BOK building.
Storytellers:
Journalists, writers, editors and radio producers from Al Día, Billy Penn, The Philadelphia Citizen, The Philadelphia Inquirer, Philadelphia Magazine, Spotlight PA, Root Quarterly, WHYY News and WURD go behind the scenes of their reporting, inviting readers into a world they’ve only observed from the outside.
Plus surprise performances, live music, art, drinks and more.
Back Pocket Media is a team of journalists and storytellers who have partnered with 25+ news orgs across the country to put on storytelling events that feature impactful local journalism on stage. Their events help newsrooms reach new audiences, build trust with underserved communities and promote collaboration across local media ecosystems.
