Mural Arts & East Market Happy Hour

Celebrate one of Center City’s signature murals, Cradle, by Lisbon-based artist Diogo Machado. Cradle is an awe-inspiring tile installation that embodies the essence of Philadelphia’s unique character. The mural’s design references Philadelphia’s history of being a city of many firsts, with nods to centuries of tile-making tradition from the artist’s native country.

This happy hour event is dedicated to exploring the story behind this signature project — produced by Mural Arts Philadelphia on behalf of National Real Estate Advisors, National Real Estate Development, and Jefferson, and celebrating public art throughout the East Market. Attendees will enjoy the premiere of two short videos about the mural, informal Q&A with the project’s curator, and an opportunity to share thoughts with Diogo Machado about his artistic innovation. This event is part of the larger East Market Art Experience.

The event will include live music, artist demonstrations, artist Q&As, and food from Market East’s food truck, vendors, and restaurants.
