Multicolor Screenprinting — Intermediate Screenprinting

March 29 @ 10:30 am - 4:30 pm

An Intermediate Course in Screenprinting at the Soapbox Community Print Shop and Zine Library in West Philadelphia.

About this Event

In this intermediate-level course, students will learn how to make multiple-color layered prints. The class will cover how to successfully plan a print to get the most out of overlapping layers to yield secondary colors and color mixing, several methods of registration to make sure that layers line up correctly, and how to work on editioning tactics. This is an in-person, intermediate-level class and should be taken by someone who has already taken the Introduction to Screenprinting course or is a member of the Soapbox who is cleared to work in screenprinting.

Please note: Masking is now encouraged, but optional in the studio space. Individuals who feel uncomfortable using the space with others unmasked, whether for health or any other reason, are welcome to request mask-wearing while they are using the studio space.

About the Instructor

Rachel Gordon is an artist and musician from Brooklyn, New York. Since earning a BFA in Printmaking from SUNY Purchase in 2015, she has maintained a studio practice with an emphasis on screenprinting and collage.
