Mending Together

Come learn to mend clothing, build community, and place your trust in others to mend your garments.

Join me for an exercise in trust and community-building while hand-mending clothing at Manzanita Vintage in West Philly.

Please bring one piece you want to mend/patch. We’ll start with a hand-mending circle, where everyone shares why they brought their piece and one of their favorite things about themselves.

Then, they’ll turn to the person next to them, swap pieces, and mend the other person’s piece for them. It’s a chance to meet new people and learn more about repair, both as an act and a metaphor.

We’ll supply the thread, needles, and fabric for patches.

Since this is a community event, it is donation-based to make it accessible to everyone.
