Meeting at the Crefeld Street Trailhead
Join us for a late fall hike to soak in the beauty of the Lavender Trail and Houston Meadow trail! Our hike will start at the Crefeld Street entrance to the Lavender Trail where we will explore the feeder creeks and footbridges in the area before heading down to Forbidden Drive. We will then head up to Houston Meadow to observe the terrain and (hopefully) see some wildlife before we head back over the Covered Bridge and hike up another section of the Lavender Trail. Along the way we’ll talk about some of the impressive trees growing along the trail, along with the history of Houston Meadow and the Covered Bridge.
This hike is for ages 18+.
Distance: 4.5 – 5 miles
Level: Difficult (many inclines and declines, uneven surfaces)
Registration is required for all hikes so that participants can be informed of weather or other emergency cancellations.
Unless otherwise specified, Trail Ambassador Walks may be on rocky, rugged trails that may be wet and slippery. Wear sturdy shoes or boots with socks. Walks are cancelled in heavy rain. Service animals are always welcome. For more information contact Marisa Miller at [email protected]. Visit www.fow.org for updates.
