The newly adopted Pennsylvania Integrated Standards for Science, Technology & Engineering, and Environmental Literacy and Sustainability (STEELS) were developed jointly to ensure consistency, coherence, and a cohesive K–12 integrated approach to science education in the Commonwealth.
The STEELS Hub provides educators with the resources to implement and support the new standards. At this hub, formal educators, school administrators, and non-formal educators can find the new standards, curriculum frameworks, instructional and curriculum resources, opportunities for professional development, assessment, and safety guidelines. More resources continue to be added.
A FREE 2-Day Professional Development for Educators
The new STEELS standards are a powerful framework for student-centered learning. Join colleagues from across Pennsylvania to engage with the new standards and explore connections to the Meaningful Watershed Education Experience (MWEE).
Pennsylvania Department of Education, NOAA, Stroud Water Research Center, and Pennsylvania Sea Grant staff look forward to seeing education leaders from across the state and helping schools prepare to implement the new standards!
