Sunday in the park – acoustic music in the vibrant lush community garden setting
Olney Culture Lab is proud to bring back the performance series at Roots Garden in Fisher Park. This new series of outdoor performances held in the lush green space of the Roots Community Garden in the Olney neighborhood of Philadelphia was a breath of fresh air for attendees and performers alike.
Opening the series for this season is Dija. She is a local, independent, intentional musician, poet, and sound healer who transmutes pain into power through the creation and expression of art in order to assist in the healing of herself and others. The vibrational frequencies she shares aim to assist with awareness and self love. She creates open safe spaces for comm(unity) healing with her organization Nurture & Activate.
Joining her will also be Poets IncitetheMindfulRapper and B.Heavenly.
The event will also feature catering by Donia’s Dishes, a local chef who will offer light snacks and refreshments.
Attendees are welcome to bring lawn chairs or blankets. There will be some folding seats available. Parking is on the street at West Spencer.
In the event of inclement weather, the event will be held in the main sanctuary of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church which is two blocks away at 5900 North 5th Street.
This series is produced in partnership with the Fisher Park Community Alliance and the Roots Community Garden. It supported from a generous grant by the William Penn Foundation.
