Life After Death: The Importance of Dead and Dying Trees

April 8 @ 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Most people are familiar with the innumerable benefits of living trees, but even after their death, trees provide vital habitat, shelter, and food for wildlife. Join our partner, Morris Arboretum, for a program to learn how dead and dying trees still teem with life, from tiny termites to fantastic flying squirrels and everything in between.

This program will begin inside with a lecture and discussion and then move outdoors to explore the way Stoneleigh: a natural garden has worked to incorporate dead wood into its landscape projects and native plantings.

This program has been approved to carry 2.5 CEUs from ISA, LA CES, and the NJ Board of Tree Experts.
