Parking: There’s a small parking lot by our meeting location next to house #208, and another by PAPERtrail Bike Cafe. See map for details.

Distance: 1.5 miles
Difficulty Level: Easy-Moderate (mostly flat with some inclines and declines, uneven surfaces)
Audience: Ages 12+
Did you know there is an accredited arboretum within the Wissahickon Valley Park? There IS, and you are welcome to join Trail Ambassadors Sheryl Rose, Jean McWilliams, and Deb Brackett for an arboretum walk to visit and learn about its arboreal gems.
Featured plants will include include magnolias (which we hope will be in bloom), the bush nicknamed “forsythia of the wild”, shaggy river birches, and a tree named after Ben Franklin! The pace of this hike will be on the slower side, and there’ll be quite a few stops to touch, smell, and hear about plants. Tree hugging encouraged but not required.
Registration is required for all events so that participants can be informed of weather or other emergency cancellations. Unless otherwise specified, Trail Ambassador Walks may be on rocky, rugged trails that may be wet and slippery. Wear sturdy shoes or boots with socks. Walks are cancelled in heavy rain or icy conditions. Service animals are always welcome.
