Lapidary Info Sesh

I hope to establish the Philadelphia Lapidary society, because I love cutting rocks, but I don’t know anybody else who does this, and I desperately need to share the joy that this art form brings me. At the initial meeting, I hope to talk with folks about what they feel the group should look like, lay some ground rules for equipment sharing and general courtesy, and do some hands-on instruction with folks about cutting and polishing minerals! My hope is that the org will become self-sufficient like many other Lapidary Societies throughout the country are, with an operating volunteer board. – Your Host M. Sheppeck

The Location: This event is held at The Craft Coven’s space in Cherry Street Pier. Plan to arrive a bit early because the pier is a large space. We are located in studio 14 on the second floor. Unfortunately there are no elevators to the second floor. You will need to go up a very large flight of steps to get to the second floor. The space is heated/cooled inside the pier and there are bathrooms located on site (on the first floor). There are often installations and events around the pier, and the larger space is open from 12-9pm most days. Look at their events HERE and you could make a whole day out of your visit!
