Kirie: The Art of Japanese Paper Cutting Monthly Club

January 11 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

Learn something new this year and join us for our new Monthly Kirie Club!

Kirie, the Japanese art of paper cutting, involves creating intricate designs by cutting black paper with an X-ACTO knife. Color, shading, and dimension are then added using origami paper. The Kirie Club meets once a month, providing an opportunity to work on your own projects. All are welcome to join, with a suggested $5 donation. Templates will be available for participants, and the club is facilitated by local Kirie artist Kimiko Benjamin.

Things you need to bring:
– X-ACTO knife
– Cutting Mat
– Pencil
– Black Pen
– White Paper
– Black Paper
– Colored Paper, such as origami (optional)
– Glue (optional)

We’re excited to grow the Kirie community here in Philadelphia and would love for you to be a part of it. Come join us and unleash your creativity!

This is a donation-based workshop! Free entry is welcome, $10 donation is recommended. Donation can be provided during booking or at the door. All are welcome!
