Kensington Community Resilience Fund Creative Healing Retreat
July 26 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Join us for a rejuvenating day of self-care and community support at the Kensington Community Resilience Fund Creative Healing Retreat!
The Kensington Community Resilience Fund is thrilled to announce our KCR Fund Creative Healing Retreat, led by Nia Eubanks-Dixon and her team at Creative Praxis. This retreat will support our grantees and partners with a four-hour in-depth transformative healing experience designed to leave participants feeling rejuvenated, inspired, and encouraged as powerful human beings.
The Creative Healing Retreat will use an arts-based, somatic-centered design to provide a healing experience grounded in anti-racist, trauma-informed, joy-filled, and community-centered approaches. Through the experience, participants will begin to fully actualize their rejuvenation, healing, and wellness to build capacity as both individuals and as a collective. The knowledge, skills, and tools participants gather through the session can be incorporated immediately following the intensive.
Creative Praxis will use various learning approaches to build community among participants, including art making (ex, movement, drama, spoken word, writing, singing, storytelling, music, or visual arts), small and large group discussions, and experiential activities.
The KCR Fund is incredibly grateful to our funding partner for this event, the Patricia Kind Family Foundation, which has provided a generous grant to enable us to offer this healing retreat to our community at no cost to participants.
We are also pleased to be partnering with our event host Esperanza Health and thank our Community Advisory Committee members who have helped to design this retreat to support the needs within the community.
