March 5 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Want to learn how to use a Glowforge? Then this class is for you! This class is a requirement for UW members wanting to use the Glowforge.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

By now you’ve probably seen the commercials floating around about the Glowforge cutter / engraver machine and the amazing things it can do and create; and if you haven’t, then go check out their website https://glowforge.com to get an idea of just how awesome this thing really is! In this certification class you will be sitting down with MakerSpace Manager Evan Ludwig to make a custom coaster. He will teach you the basics of the Glowforge machine and its software.

He’ll go over:

  • Introduction to what a Glowforge is and basics of how it works
  • How to use the Glowforge web-based software
  • What materials can and can’t be used with our Glowforge
  • Different settings for engraving depths and effects
  • Cutting & Engraving
  • Machine safety and clean up

This is a great chance to see what options are available to you with this amazing tool. Bring your project ideas and chat with Evan. Materials will be provided. You’ll want to take notes, so don’t forget to bring a pen and pad.
