This interactive workshop is designed to empower attendees with practical knowledge and skills in bookkeeping, bylaws, and creating a board.

About the Event

The Center for Community Engagement invites you to a practical workshop entitled, “How to Start a Non-Profit Organization” on Saturday, July 22 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. This event will include continental breakfast and lunch. Led by Dr. Wesley Proctor and Dr. Al Socci, this practical workshop will cover bylaws, bookkeeping, and creating a board. Materials, including books, will be given to each attendee.

About the Speakers

Dr. Wesley Tyrone Proctor is an award-winning scholar, author, youth pastor, professor, and community leader. Dr. Proctor has helped hundreds of churches and nonprofits obtain their 501c3 status from the IRS. As the CEO/Founder of Wesley Proctor Ministries, Inc., a nonprofit organization, he strives to expand spiritual and academic excellence. In addition to starting a nonprofit, Dr. Proctor is also involved with several nonprofits, including the University of Pennsylvania’s Center for AIDS Research. His leadership and vision have been recognized by several organizations and universities across the nation. He is also an Assistant Professor at Villanova University and Executive Administrator at Victory Christian Center.

Dr. Al Socci has served as an Associate Professor of Eastern University’s Business Department since 2004. In 2021, Dr. Socci was named the Sam Walton Fellows of the Year for his visionary leadership in the Enactus organization. Under Dr. Socci’s leadership, Eastern’s chapter of Enactus has won 4 regional championships advancing to the national competition. Although recently retired, Dr. Socci continues impacting students by serving as a professor to Eastern’s Prison Education Program at SCI Chester.
