Stroll through the home, indulge in hot cocoa and tasty treats, and on select days enjoy musical performances from local choirs, instrumentalists, and organists in a festive and cozy setting.
On this date, we’re thrilled to welcome pianist Francis Martin as one of our featured performers.
Richard Francis Martin (Francis) was born in San Francisco in 2007 and moved to Philadelphia at the age of six, where he began his piano studies. Over the years, he has been fortunate to receive mentorship from exceptional teachers, including Janet Woods, with whom he studied from age 10 to 14, and Michelle Cann, his current instructor, who holds the Eleanor Sokoloff Chair in Piano Studies at the Curtis Institute of Music. Francis has earned recognition in numerous competitions. Most recently he performed Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Miami Chamber Orchestra, following his success at the Florida Young Artists International Piano Competition. In addition to his classical training, Francis is passionate about jazz music, drawing inspiration from artists such as Keith Jarrett, Charles Lloyd, and Kenny Garrett. His classical music tastes are equally broad, with influences from pianists such as Ivo Pogorelich, Alfred Brendel, Stephen Hough, and Mitsuko Uchida.
