Join us for the Grow & Walk-A-Thon 5K, an all-ages community wellness walk presented in partnership with Delaware County Parks & Recreation.

This celebratory event is the culminating challenge of Grow & Walk DelCo, a multi-week wellness program that inspires participants to build healthy habits through walking, gardening, yoga, journaling, and other accessible activities that support physical, mental, and social well-being.

The Grow & Walk-A-Thon 5K is more than the final challenge of our Grow & Walk wellness program—it’s also a celebration of 10 years of Black Girls With Green Thumbs. As we mark this milestone, we’re planting seeds for the next decade of healthier communities, stronger neighborhoods, and joyful movement.

While the Walk-A-Thon marks the finale of the Grow & Walk program, the 5K is open to everyone. Whether you’ve participated throughout the season or are simply looking for a fun, active way to spend the day, we’d love to walk with you.

Unlike a competitive road race, this is an accessible, walkable 5K designed for people of all ages and fitness levels. Beginners, leisure walkers, families, seniors, and seasoned walkers are all encouraged to participate at their own pace while enjoying the natural beauty and historic spaces of eastern Delaware County.

The event begins and ends at the County Park on Springfield Road and concludes with a community celebration and complimentary lunch. A fitness instructor will lead a pre-walk warm-up to help everyone get moving before we set off together.
