greo-wurk youth poetry intensive

Wednesdays starting Jan 14th-Feb 18th. Performance on Sunday Feb 22nd
ONLY 18 Seats! for youth 13-18 years old. all levels welcome.
We will be exploring 6 diasporic poets lives and work.
We will be responding with original writings compiling work to produce a zine and performance.
We will be partnering with 3 other Philadelphia youth visual artists to construct original pieces of the 6 poets we are studying.
Audio of Performances will be recorded and on display with the gallery show from Feb-April in the gallery.
Participants will receive
*personalized notebooks
*writing utensils
*healthy snack & tea for each session
*writing and performance techniques
*grounded in the lineage of black and brown poets
*Gallery opening show
$200 for total series and performance. or 3 payments of $83. If selecting 3 payments, first payment is via eventbrite, 2nd payments will be via auto pay on Paypal in 2 week intervals.

About the instructor
blew kind, founder of d’griot café, developed the greo-wurk practice and has been teaching poetry since 2012. She loves working with youth and currently has year long residencies at Lankenau HS and Building 21. She is an active poet on stage and in writing; trained in Meisner acting method at University of the Arts.
