Project History:
Spring 2024 –
130 Trees and Shrubs funded by Excel Events planted along a new nature trail with Sewa.
1000 Trees and Shrubs from Seedlings for Schools planted by students from Ben Franklin middle school and Truman High School. (The nursery suggested planting the bareroot trees within 2 weeks. We were still planting the 1000 trees for months and many trees did not make it. Ben Franklin middle school stepped in and planted the majority of the trees when they had time after testing.)
Fall 2024 –
We planted 67 Trees from a Healing the planet grant from Keep PA Beautiful / Giant Grocery stores. This $3000 grant paid for larger trees, metal caging , and Plastic black mesh.
We will be replanting a variety of 100 trees and 75 shrubs provided through our partnership with Keystone10 million Trees in the field this fall because many of the white spruce did not survive. (due to drought conditions and white grubs)
