Celebrate the Day of the Death with a conversation about death and dying!
On multiple levels, green burial solves the problems of modern death care – the environmental, financial, and psychological ones. Join Friends of Green Burial PA co-founder, Carin Bonifacino, as she explains how green burial addresses each one of these aspects. In addition, participants will learn what green burial is, see photos of green burial grounds currently in use, and tap into resources for further learning and for finding green cemeteries where they live. This event will be hosted via Zoom.
Carin Bonifacino is a co-founder of Friends of Green Burial PA, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization working primarily on education and advocacy for green burial in the state of Pennsylvania. Carin spent the first half of her life working in horticulture and small scale farming and, after two significant deaths in her family, decided to switch careers at mid-life. After attending One Spirit Interfaith Seminary in New York, Carin became an ordained minister in 2019 and now officiates funerals and memorial services for people from all walks of life. She is also an end of life doula and a death educator who teaches workshops and classes on a variety of topics related to the end of life.
