An afternoon of artmaking at Glen Foerd
Join Getting to Green in partnership with the Tacony LAB Community Art Center on Saturday June 28th for a family friendly bus ride to Glen Foerd. We’ll meet at the Tacony LAB at 10am to prepare for an afternoon of artmaking while learning about the history and grounds of Glen Foerd on the Delaware.
The workshop will be hosted by Artist in Residence Cory Kram. They will teach the basics of cyanotype, a light-sensitive photographic process that develops “cyan-blue” prints. We will place assemblages of found objects onto coated paper and watch as the sun develops these objects into images.
All materials, SEPTA passes and lunch will be provided. Getting to Green is a public art project which encourages residents to use public transit to explore green spaces throughout Philadelphia. Together, we’ll ride the Route 84 bus along State Rd to the park. There will be some short walking to access the bus stop and park (.5 mile each way), so come prepared to be outdoors, explore a new part of the city and make art with us. Space is limited. We will return by 3pm to the Lab.Please let us know if you have any special accommodations.
