Is your favorite sweater holding on by a thread? Beloved jeans a little off-color? Fear not, because The Lansdowne Fiber Repair Clinic is open and can help you heal your wardrobe and head home with a wardrobe that’s revitalized!
Join us on October 28th from 1 – 4 pm at the 20*20 House for an afternoon leaning to, darn, patch, and sew your worn-out textiles on the road towards being on the mend. No sewing experience? No problem! The clinic includes darning tutorials and support from experienced fiber artists and community members.
The Lansdowne Fiber Repair Clinic is brought to you by the Lansdowne Arts Comittee, and LEDC initiative, in honor of local resident Helen Bowes (1945 – 2023). Helen Bowes was a master fiber worker, and would extend her knowledge to teaching neighbors how to repair their own heirlooms. We honor Helen and her dedication to preserving the past and building community.
