Tour the History of Fashion as Activism From Then to Now
When you think of Philly do you think of fashion? After this small walking group tour, thinking of fashion will become second nature. Journey through fashion’s history learning about its place in protests and activist movements going all the way back to the 1950’s until now. Fashion as Activism, an immersive shoppable tour will start at Blk Ivy Thrift located at 3605 Lancaster Avenue and conclude at Grant BLVD located at 140 S. 34th Street.
For this very special experience you’ll be guided by educator, fashion activist and CEO of both brands, Dr. Kimberly McGlonn. Dr. McGlonn will educate you on the deep historical roots of fashion activism particularly in Philadelphia.
