Fall Salt Snapshot Day

October 15 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Join Wissahickon Environmental Center and Friends of the Wissahickon to sample water in the Wissahickon for salt levels.

Road salt pollution is no longer just a winter problem. Recent research shows the build up of salt from many years continues to effect our freshwater streams and rivers year round. Join Wissahickon Environmental Center (WEC) and Friends of the Wissahickon staff/volunteers to sample water throughout the Creek system for salt levels. Meet outside of Cedar’s House off of Forbidden Drive and Northwestern Ave and then travel to locations within the Park for water collection. If you have a car or bicycle, that will be helpful. Please RSVP through Eventbrite. Contact us at wec@phila.gov for more information. This citizen science project is a project of the Stroud Water Research Center.

Water samples will be tested in the afternoon at WEC.
