Equal Exchange began with a simple yet powerful idea: What if food could be traded
in a way that is fair and honest, empowering both farmers and consumers? Since
1986, we have been creating people-centered supply chains that prioritize producers,
consumers, and our planet. Unfortunately, our food system is increasingly dominated
by a select few, often to the detriment of many. At a time when so many want our
food to be both convenient and to reflect our values, can we challenge ourselves to
create something different?
