Discover the Wissahickon: Meadow Miler Hike

Our Discover the Wissahickon hike series is presented by Newrez.
Join Trail Ambassadors Chris Unander, Sue Amon, Bailey Graf, and Reagan Hedlund on a trek through every meadow Wissahickon Valley Park has to offer! We’ll travel through Harper’s Meadow, Houston Meadow, and Andorra Meadow. This will be a moderately difficult hike with some steep elevation changes.

Parking and Transit: If you’re driving, there is plenty of parking in the Northwestern Avenue Parking Area near our meeting location, as well as additional free parking on nearby neighborhood streets. The nearest bus stop at Germantown Ave and Northwestern Ave is a 5-minute, flat walk from our meeting location and services the 51 and 97 buses. If you’re coming from the Roxborough side of the park, the nearest stop is at Ridge Ave and Northwestern Ave which services the 27 bus. See map for details.
Bathrooms: Porta potties at Northwestern Avenue and a composting toilet at Wissahickon Environmental Center.
Registration is required for all hikes so that participants can be informed of weather or other emergency cancellations. Unless otherwise specified, Trail Ambassador Walks may be on rocky, rugged trails that may be wet and slippery. Wear sturdy shoes or boots with socks. Walks are cancelled in heavy rain, extreme heat, muddy conditions, or icy conditions. Service animals are always welcome. For more information contact Marisa Miller at miller@fow.org.

Discover the Wissahickon is a guided hikes series made up of 14 routes spanning almost every section of the park’s 50+ miles of trails. On these hikes, our knowledgeable Trail Ambassadors will lead participants on an exploratory journey through the Wissahickon.
