Crochet 101: Make your own Beanie Hat
Celeste Preston, one of d’griot gallery’s Spring resident artists, will be leading attendees on how to start projects with a crochet needle and yarn using the “slip stitch”. The supplies that are needed are a crochet needle (aluminum may be easier to work with, smaller needles will take longer FYI) yarn and a positive mindset.

Celeste Nicole Preston is a native to the Americas but was born and raised in Uptown Philadelphia. She is a self taught crochet artisan since the age of 16. She is also a fashion designer, environmental designer, farmer, landscaper, educator, serial entrepreneur & community builder.
She is currently diving back into her favorite artistic loves to bring more sunshine into this realm. She sees herself with a storefront and design/class studio. She would also like to see her celestial creations on the runway all around the world.
